christian petzold has quickly become one of my favorite directors - watched a half dozen of his movies in the past two weeks and they were all incredible in their own way
i would especially recommend yella - phoenix and transit

im running out of movies to watch any recommendations? Three Ive watched recently that I enjoyed - Love Crime, starring Kristin Scott Thomas. Fun thriller with lots of twists. Swimming Pool, directed by Francois Ozen. Moody arthouse, great performance from Charlotte Rampling. Beasts of No Nation. Grim but really well constructed story about African child soldiers. Idris Elba stars.

has anyone else watched this? I did. I'll always watch anything Kaufman does. I really enjoyed it and thought I understood some of it, but there were certainly things that I wasn't getting. I read a good write up afterwards and it made a lot of things make sense, and made me appreciate it more.
