I will need to check that out, as Ethan Hawke can do no wrong.
I watched the latest Justin Kurzel (Snowtown, Macbeth) film last night - it's called The True History of the Kelly Gang. For non-Aussies, Ned Kelly is our most famous colonial bushranger (outlaw) and the film is based on the Peter Carey novel of the same name. It's a really bold film that flirts with style over substance quite a bit. It turns the Ned Kelly legend into an examination of toxic masculinity, and people will either love that concept or roll their eyes. I did a bit of both watching it. On the plus side - it's gorgeous to look at and the performances are outstanding (a super-violent Russell Crowe, Nicholas Hoult and Essie Davis who shone in The Babadook and is also married to the director). I guess the downside is whether you think it takes too much artistic license at the expense of realism. Currently available on Aussie streaming service Stan, but I assume it will be distributed to other platforms later.

The whole CGI people-as-cats thing just looks weird. Expensive. But weird. Probably doesn't help that the musical barely has a coherent storyline either.

He's also the namesake for a band called Reckless Kelly that I loved back when I was in college/grad school
