Good, isnt it? Oscar worthy for sure. it was truly great - im still processing it but i loved every minute ... speaking of - it flew by i was gonna say more but i cant figure out how to format this for spoilers

i watched this movie a few nights ago and im still not sure what to think of it - a24 distributed it so i figured with their track record i had to check it out - im not sure it holds up to some of the other movies theyve put out but it was definitely interesting in a few ways - namely the cause of death for the titular character - was not expecting it ... its directed by the same guy that did swiss army man - so if you like odd movies you should check it out - it also kinda sorta has a coen brothers vibe to it as well

No, it was one of those films that I meant to see in the cinema, but it passed me by. The director did such good work in The Babadook. The Tasmanian wilderness is so often the backdrop for Aussie horror films - especially those set in the colonial era. It's beautiful, really wild countryside plus a lot of weird shit has happened down there over the years. Van Diemen's Land and Dying Breed are two other local films that use the setting to similar spooky effect.
