What does everyone think? I burned my copy with Dreaming You Backwards & I'm Sorry And I Love You. I took those off of Wednesday and added the 4 bonus 7" songs. I didn't think they fit the mood of that album. Find it funny he moved them anyways. I think the album is pretty damn good.

I like it so far.. but i think it needs to grow like prisoner had to (at least for me). I really like "Power" right now...

"It's so Quiet, It's Loud" is my favorite track. Cool instrumental part and outro. Very Smithsy. Otherwise, I did not enjoy this one through two trips around the tracks and have not come to like Wednesdays at all. I wonder if I would've felt different without the pandemic, the allegations, and the year at home listening to so much new and different stuff. I was originally so excited about this that I pre-ordered the vinyl on a plane before it took off. Now that it's out there finally and the momentum is gone, it feels very middle of the road to me.

Thanks for posting. I don't share the ease with which Darryl Sterdan claims he can separate the art from a confessional artist, but the discourse is interesting to me. I subsequently read his review on his blog and the approach there is basically "if you like him already, this is another solid record; if you can't get past the personal stuff, go ahead and pass." I had no qualms at all about streaming this or the last one, but I'm glad I didn't buy physical copies mostly because I haven't really enjoyed the music itself. I suspect part of the reason that I'm lukewarm on these is simply that discussing DRA feels like talking about a friend in prison, so the collaborative fun of the rollout and release is missing.

Just got through my second listen, and my thoughts are....meh. It's really disappointing after the big leadup to the album, then the cancelation, then we finally get it two years later, and it's really just a collection of average songs besides a couple. Wednesdays is far superior IMO, I barely even remember what song I just listened to on here, but I find myself seeking songs from Wednesdays frequently. Just a bummer, and doesn't leave me much hope for the double album that is supposedly coming.

Can't say that I like it all that much. Still really hate the production / guitar tone that he has been using on these last few albums.

I guess I'm the only one that really digs the album.

I really like Big Colors. We heard the beginnings of a lot of these songs with the Dear Impossible demos years ago, and it seems like he pulled all of my favorites from there and filled the album with other good tunes. It find it a lot more interesting than Wednesdays, and I regularly still listen to it from end to end.
