Looks like Taco Bell is relaunching nationally here, again. The chain has tried and failed twice over the years to be profitable in Australia. Not sure if they are doing anything differently this time or they just perceive a change in the market. Maybe it will be third time lucky.

I know! Syd, have you had Taco Bell? I had it once, years ago when Taco Bell still existed here. Can't say I liked it very much to be honest. I don't know if Australians eat healthier than Americans, but we do eat differently I think. McDonalds, KFC and Subway are common here, but a lot of the other fast food chains imported from the US and elsewhere have struggled. Dennys, Taco Bell, Krispy Kreme, Sizzler and Burger King all bit the dust. Even Starbucks struggles here - most of their outlets have closed and those that remain are in areas where international tourists hang out. The locals just don't go there very much because we are used to a different sort of coffee. My only experience of the US was in southern California, and I definitely found more fast food outlets than we have here, plus much bigger servings of food in general. There also didn't seem to be as many of the coffee shops/cafes that are so common here - it was mostly fast food or 'proper' restaurants.
