I'm not sure exactly what it is about the Korean approach to cinema that make so many of their movies memorable, but South Korea certainly deserves its reputation as an international film powerhouse.
So, what are some of your faves and recommendations?

1. Parasite is the obvious one that springs to mind right now. Absolutely flawless film-making, imo. If you haven't see it yet, you really should.
2. Oldboy. Possible Park Chan-wook's finest film and one of my all time favourite films ever. The others in The Vengeance Trilogy "Lady Vengeance" and 'Sympathy For My Vengeance" are also very good.
3. I Saw The Devil - gritty and violent murder mystery
4. The Housemaid - high on melodrama and gorgeous to look at, a film about a love triangle gone horribly wrong.

Nice list thx, quite a few there I need to check out. A Tale of Two Sisters is another one from the list I've seen and would recommend. Very creepy. The Host and Mother are both great, but very different in tone. Mother is one of those films that lingers in your mind for ages after you've watched it.
