The Platform (Netflix) is really weirdly good. Don't watch it while you're eating.

Anyone see Underwater? I thought it was a really good film and I generally can't stand Kristen Stewart.

Incident In A Ghost Land is interesting and very intense. It's directed by Pascal Laugier, best known for the controversial, ultra-violent Martyrs. Incident is far from perfect, and if you hated Martyrs, you will hate this one too. This film is not quite as violent, but still offers that weird blend of philosophy-meets-women getting the crap beaten out of them that made Martyrs such a talking point. Psycho-killer tropes in the style of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, also get the Laugier treatment with this one.

So I finally got around to watching The Lighthouse last night. I can certainly see it's one of those films that people will probably either love or hate. I loved every weird moment of it. It's not really a horror film in the usual sense(neither was Eggers previous film The Witch, for that matter) and what it is actually about is left pretty much up to the individual viewer. Both lead actors are superb and throw everything into being suitably unhinged.
Avoid if you dislike artyfarty fables and super ambiguous endings. Highly recommended for those who roll that way.

It certainly made me look at seagulls in a totally different light.

Sea Fever is a great creature feature Irish horror. Good cast, atmospheric, claustrophobic.
